Titling is often one of the most cumbersome parts of the vehicle sale process. Our Titling solution streamlines and digitizes the entire titling and registration workflow, taking what used to be a pile of forms and DMV headaches and turning it into a swift, error-free process that gets deals finished and customers on the road with minimal delay.

With this solution, your F&I and office staff no longer need to manually fill out each state form or double/ triple-check for compliance—the system does it for them. When a deal is being finalized, the titling module auto-populates all necessary title and registration documents with data already in the DMS (customer info, vehicle info, lienholder, etc.). It supports all 50 states (and DC), adjusting for each one’s requirements (from California’s numerous forms to simple tag apps in others). If any fields are missing (say the customer’s driver’s license number wasn’t captured), it prompts the user to input it, ensuring no blank spaces that would cause rejection.

Electronic filing is a key feature. For many states that offer electronic registration (EVR), the Titling solution connects directly to the DMV systems, allowing you to submit title/registration applications online rather than mailing or physically going to the DMV. This can cut down what used to take days or weeks into sometimes same-day or next-day turnaround. For states that still require paper, the system generates laserprinted forms that are legible and complete, reducing the chance of rejections for poor handwriting or missed fields.

The software also calculates taxes and fees automatically based on the deal parameters (in coordination with the DMS deals module), so you don’t undercharge or overcharge the customer. It knows the latest DMV fees, sales tax rates by jurisdiction, even odd scenarios like trade-in credits or tax caps where applicable. This eliminates nasty surprises when the office catches an error days later.

Once the deal is done, Titling helps track the status of the application. It can produce a checklist or dashboard for all pending title work: what’s submitted, what’s still pending, any that had errors to correct, etc. If a deal is missing some necessary documents (like proof of insurance or a lien release on a trade), it flags it so staff can follow up immediately rather than discovering it at the last minute.

For out-of-state buyers, the system also shines—telling you exactly what that customer’s state needs and producing it. No more guesswork or calling DMVs for guidance on the one-off sale.

Auto-Populated Forms

Generate completed title and registration forms for any state using deal data from your DMS (buyer info, vehicle details, trade info, etc.). This includes standard forms like title app, registration app, odometer disclosure, tax forms, etc., all filled in and printed or transmitted in the correct format.

Tax & Fee Calculation

Automatically calculate sales tax, title fees, registration fees, luxury taxes, tire/battery fees, or any other local fees based on the deal specifics (taking into account trade-ins, rebates, etc.). It updates these calculations whenever deal figures change, to avoid any under/over collection.

Electronic DMV Submission (EVR)

Connect with state DMV systems to file title/registration electronically where available. This might include real-time processing for temp tags, pulling state title numbers back once issued, and possibly printing registration cards or temp permits on the spot on secure paper.

Multi-State Support

Provide built-in support and rule-checking for all states, so selling to an out-ofstate customer becomes as easy as in-state. It tells you exactly what’s needed (e.g., “Massachusetts sale: need RMV Form XYZ, sales tax to be collected or not, etc.”) and generates everything accordingly.

Deal Checklist & Workflow

For each deal, maintain a checklist of required items (MSO, power of attorney, smog certificate, etc.) based on that deal’s scenario. Mark them off as received. This helps manage deals that can’t be completed due to missing items.

Temp Tag Management

Issue temporary tags if applicable directly through the system, with automatic logging of tag numbers and expiration dates. Possibly integrates with the printing of temp tag barcodes or plates as per state rules.

Lien & Lien Release Tracking

Ensure lienholder information is correctly recorded on title apps. Also, if taking in trades, track that trade’s title and lien release are received and the trade payoff was processed, etc., providing reminders if something is missing before you can resell that trade.

Funding Packet Integration

Create a clean funding packet for lenders with everything they need (which, thanks to the system, is correctly done). This can expedite funding because everything is legible and in order—no back-and-forth with lender over corrections to paperwork.

Alerts & Compliance

Alert if a deal’s title work is approaching a deadline (many states require submission within X days of sale). Also ensure forms are latest version (system updates them as DMVs change them). Keeps an audit log of who processed each title and when, so you have records.

Reporting

Summarize all deals and their title status: which are completed, which are pending submission, which are waiting on customer stuff. Additionally, track any fees due/refunds due if miscalculation happened (ideally rare) so nothing falls through the cracks.

Integration with Courier Services

Perhaps integrate with services that handle title courier or 50state titling specialists, to seamlessly send deals to them if needed (for example, if you’d rather outsource out-of-state processing to a vendor, the system can package it and send it electronically).
